potato masala






Ingredients :

Potato - 1 (big)
Onion - 1 (medium) finely chopped
Green Peas - 1/4 cup
Green chilly - 2
urad dal - 1/2tspoon
Channa dal - 1/2tspoon
mustard seeds - 1/4 tspoon
besan / gram flour - 2 tspoons
fresh coriander
turmeric - 1/4 tspoon
salt
oil

Preparation Method:

Step1 : Boil the potato and peel the skin off.

Step2 : mix 2 tspoons of besan in 1/2 a cup of water to make a thick batter and keep it aside.

Step3 : take 2 tspoons of oil in a pan add the mustard seeds one it splutters ,add urad dal and Channa dal fry until it turns light brown, now add the finely chopped onions, green chillies and fry until it turns golden brown.

Step4 : add the green peas and mashed potato , turmeric,salt and cook for 4-5 mins.

Step5 : add the besan batter and stir it well , cook for 2-3 mins and garnish with finely chopped fresh coriander.

tastes gr8 with Poori and chappathi .Can also be used as stuffing for Masala Dosa ;-)
