Pudhina / Mint Thuvaiyal





Ingredients

Mint leaves/pudhina - 2 bunches
Toor dal - 1/2Tblspoon
Channa dal - 1 Tblspoon
Urad dal - 1tspoon
Dried Red chillies - 5-6
tamarind - a pinch
salt
oil - 2tspoons

Method of Preparation

Step 1: Wash the Mint leaves thoroughly to make sure there is no mud/dirt on it.Separate the leaves and let it dry for 2-3 mins.

Step 2: In a small pan heat 2 tspoons of oil and roast the toor dal,channa dal,urad dal and dried red chillies until they turn light brown and add the mint leaves and roast it for 2 mins and let it cool to room temperature.Grind altogether in a mixie /blender with a pinch of tamarind and salt into coarse paste by adding a few drops of water.thuvaiyal usually should be a little dry unlike chutney.

Good when served with Rice.Can also be tried with roti and dosa....i like it.
